Laser Hair Loss Treatment
Doctors use laser treatment on patients who are experiencing thinning hair, bald spots or general hair loss. They use it to try to re-grow hair and restore the scalp. This method is safe for both men and women. The treatment involves a light energy focusing on the bald part that needs healing or stimulation, which does not affect men or women differently.
The procedure is relatively simple. The laser emits a direct light from the laser source with a low power over the patients head using a regulator. After the doctor pushes the start button, he proceeds with the treatment until the laser equipment has a beeping signal to indicate the end of treatment. This is called phototherapy. This procedure involves an energy source where the right amount of energy is needed in order to achieve desired hair re-growth.
Treatments will vary depending on the patient’s level of hair loss and the time the patient is willing to commit. A typical treatment lasts approximately 30 minutes once a week. Then, depending on the specific needs, the treatment will continue once a month afterwards. The laser works as a fertilizer for the scalp that will nourish and thicken hair strands. The results will vary depending on the patient’s hormone levels and if they follow their treatment continuously.
